At every juncture, I have been among the first to acknowledge that my own existence is fundamentally in doubt. In spite of this—or perhaps because of it—Pierre-Édouard Lémontey has described me as the enfant terrible of PowerPoint surrealism: a favour that I repaid by designing an interactive experience in which one confronts Pierre's reality, or lack thereof. Anxious about how it might be received, I hid it within the developer console at stoke.place, and promised not to speak of it again. Today, unsure that Pierre exists, I break that promise. Recently, Pierre has been enamoured with elaborate metafiction, which is in equal measures eager to assert its authenticity, and up-front about its falsehood. There is something peculiarly enticing about this contradiction.
